help you review and prepare for the upcoming school year. There are links to
interactive and engaging websites, a few workbooks that you can most likely find on amazon.com and also a list of useful apps.
Math
Websites
It is important incoming
fourth graders practice math concepts as well as math facts, including
addition, subtraction, division and multiplication facts. The websites below cover
many different areas and almost all of them include fact practice.
ThinkingBlocks is a great way to practice bar modeling (an
important component of Singapore Math). It has a suite of learning
tools designed to help students solve math word problems accurately and
efficiently. Using brightly colored blocks, students model mathematical
relationships and identify known and unknown quantities.
Khan Academy - Students can make use of their
extensive video library, interactive challenges, and assessments from any
computer with access to the web. This is a great way to refresh different
concepts such as multi-digit multiplication and long division.
XtraMath - Free website for practicing math
facts - teachers or students can set up accounts for children to track their
progress.
HoodaMath There are elementary math games for every area. Scroll to
the bottom of the screen to see the choices.
Math Fact Cafe Free
printable math worksheets as well as generators for math drills,
flashcards, counting, time, money, and more! One of the most popular
sites used by the kids.
Arcademic Skill Builders Featuring free
educational games, math games, language arts games, and much more for students
and teachers.
Multiplication FactsWorksheets A great website for basic
fact practice. You can print worksheets to practice all facts.

Arts Websites
Reading is one of the
most important ways to prepare for the next grade level, whether it is reading
the required books or reading books outside your AR level but you know you will
enjoy and not be able to put down...we just want you to read! It is also important to
write in a journal or write letters to friends or maybe a write a creative
story. Always
make sure you check your spelling and grammar along the way for added practice. Below are some great
websites for grammar, nonfiction text, short story passages, etc.
Printables - Scholastic - A great
and well-known site where you will find printables available for every subject
area.
Mr. Nussbaum's Language
Arts Online reading activities. Kids read passages and answer
the questions as they go along. There are also vocabulary and grammar
games.
3rdGrade Language Arts Skill Builders - Grammar,
Reading Comprehension, Parts of Speech, Sentence Structure...it's all here!
PrimaryGames A website with a variety of games for reading,
writing, word study, etc. Math games can also be found on this website.
Workbooks
The following books are
recommendations and are not at all required. We know the internet is
not always available and if you would rather work with a
pencil and paper, any type of workbook will help. Most of these books can
